The best way to change your world is to honor someone different from you. I’m sure we’re all familiar with the saying, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.” Well, how often do you follow that? Like when someone at school looks at you the wrong way. Or when you hear he or she is spreading a mean rumor about you? In those cases, that saying goes right out the window. As humans, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of not being pleasant towards someone because they’ve done some wrong to you. If you choose to bite your tongue instead of retaliating, you can begin to make a positive change. You may not have the power to make everything better all by yourself, but you could make it your mission to do your small part in treating everyone with respect. Eventually, over some time, you will see a big difference. The best way to change your world is to esteem someone different from you.
