In life, you experience a range of emotions, falling between the spectrum of positive to negative. Some may define negative emotions as any feeling, which causes you to be miserable and sad. Why is this fact important? You control who or what gets your energy. When you think about it, people who regularly talk behind their friends' backs, gossip about the latest rumor, or even give dirty looks are exerting negative energy that will eventually drain you. Instead, try finding ways to be positive. Maybe instead of bashing a person, try saying, I hope things get better for them. Or try telling someone not to volunteer information that isn't theirs to share. It takes real strength not to put others down. If you can take away anything from this lesson, it's this: Strong people don't put others down; they lift them up!
