Social media has tainted the realities of what we call life. We have been exposed to sex, death, and drugs so often that it has become our new normal. We have seen people suffer in ways that are unimaginable and yet we somehow find entertainment from it. We have stopped being shocked by the unimaginable and have normalized the outrageous. The more numb we become as a culture the more we need help to desensitize our feelings. Reach out to community or support systems that will encourage and allow you to feel again. Living without feeling is like a walking zombie. We need to re-engage with our emotions and take opportunities when things happen whether on social media or in our own communities to feel again. Numbness is for dentists and surgeries not our hearts or emotions. Being numb may seem normal but it is not healthy. If you feel numb to life, reach out for help.
