MARATHON: WEEK 2 "Pick Up The Pace!"
56s
Ready… set… go! And you’re off! With all the adrenaline that pumps through you at the beginning of a race, it’s easy to fly out the gate eager to leave the competition in the dust. Just like the beginning of the school year, you’re anxious to get off to an excellent and fast start. This is not a wrong mindset to have, but the race of life is not a sprint, but a marathon. Now that you’ve started your school year remember to pace yourself for the long haul. Get into your rhythm and stride your way towards that end goal. You need to make sure to find healthy rhythms while you are in the middle of your race so that when the end comes, you can easily pick up the pace. When you see that finish line approaching, it’s time to pick up speed. Remember why and how you started, then put that same energy into finishing your race strong. Marathon runners pace themselves throughout the whole race and speed up at the end. It’s time to pick up speed.
