Masks are not new. We live in a day and age where wearing a mask is normal, right? So many students have been wearing different kinds of masks for years to cover up their lack of confidence in themselves and it’s amazing the great lengths people will go when they are struggling with their own identity. Some mask it through humor, others through putting people down, and many cover it up through sadness. People have perfected the filters that keep people from seeing their flaws. Unfortunately, those who have mastered the art of hiding, have also avoided embracing their own imperfections. As long as they can hide their issues, they never have to fully face or deal with it. Your value and beauty is not defined by what's on the outside but ultimately what's inside. The key to building your confidence is accepting yourself, right now -- flaws, and all.
