Have you ever heard somebody tell you to keep on pushing? Whether that was concerning a sport or school or just you trying to navigate relationships. Sometimes life gets tough, and we get overwhelmed and stressed. Contrary to popular belief, it can be unhealthy for us to just keep on pushing. When you are under the pressure of life, the way your brain is set up, you need a break. It may not be a long, extended break, but even a short quick breather will go a long way. You just need to find the time to come up for air and let your brain breathe. Think about it in terms of working out. If you have ever run or lifted weights, you need a break in between sets so that you do not overwhelm your muscles or cause muscle failure. Your brain is the exact same way when it comes to stress. When you start to feel overwhelmed, do not be afraid to pause and take a few deep breaths.
